'The Grand Turk' - Another Royal Bath & West Show Winner!
David Fisher was awarded "Most Popular Picture in Show" at the Royal Bath and West of England Show for his painting 'Grand Turk'.
Success with this entry in the 2006 show marked the 8th occasion that David had won this award.
David writes: My inspiration for the painting was seeing the vessel in Liverpool Docks during a Festival of the Sea. The bright evening sun-light after a heavy thunderstorm created stunning reflections, intense rich colours and long deep shadows, these really interested me, more than trying to record the ship. The title came about because, there is just discernible in the top lefthand corner, the name board on the stern.
